Hallely Kimchi
Hallely Kimchi is a visionary cultural leader driven by a deep commitment to community, creativity, and connection. For over two decades, she has been a central figure in Melbourne’s Israeli and Jewish life, using the power of events, music, and art to bring people together and foster a shared sense of identity and purpose.
Hallely brings an authentic, bold Israeli voice to the Hatikvah team. She is a passionate advocate for elevating women’s voices and is committed to nurturing strong, values-driven Israeli leadership in Australia.
Hallely was the founder and editor of Eton, Australia’s first Israeli newspaper, and the founding director of Habayit - the home of Hebrew and Israeli culture - which she led from its inception until January 2025. Under her guidance, Habayit became a vibrant hub for cultural expression and community engagement.
In the wake of the events of October 7, Hallely stepped up to produce and direct many of the community’s most significant and heartfelt events, including the Yom Hazikaron ceremony, Yom Ha’atzmaut concert, the Nova Tribute, Illuminate October, and concerts by Aviv Geffen and Shlomi Shaban. Her work has provided a space for healing, unity, and pride in the face of adversity.
