Romy Zyngier is a forward thinking community builder, bridging diverse perspectives through shared purpose and values. Romy stands at the intersection of Zionism and progressive humanitarian ideals, fuelled by her heritage as a descendant of Holocaust survivors, partisan fighters and an upbringing in Hashomer Hatzair.

 

She champions a social-democratic vision for Israel that prioritises a diplomatic and lasting solution founded in justice and security. She is the President of Meretz Australia, Managing Director of Beit Tarbut, and active in the World Union of Progressive Zionism.

 

Beyond her community leadership, Romy is the Director of Research for a climate change startup while raising her daughter to be a proud Jewish woman.
