Civil Rights
We support all efforts to maintain a social-democratic Israeli state where the disadvantaged are not left helpless, where all workers’ rights are upheld and where exploitation is challenged at every level. We recognised the Declaration of Independence as a guide and aspiration for Israel, and we aim for those values to be upheld throughout government, civil life and within Jewish communities around the world.
We stand with Israelis demanding the protection of the rights of women, including equal pay for equal work, equal opportunity in politics, an end to enforced segregation. This includes and an end to discrimination against women’s full participation in public events, both military and civilian.
We stand with Israelis who believe that refugees and people seeking asylum in Israel are welcome, and work towards creating more dignified and safe means finding a better life in Israel for those fleeing persecution. Fundamentally, we strive for an Israel that welcomes people seeking a home for themselves, that treats foreign workers with the dignity that they deserve, and fights against racism, be it against Jews of colour or people of other faiths.
